Components:
36 cards in 4 colours (yellow, blue, red and green).
81 counters in 5 colours (17 yellow, 17 blue, 17 red, 17 green and 13 white).
1 cloth bag.
Instructions.
Preparation:
Put all counters in the bag, take them out at random and place them on the board to form a grid of 9x9.
Shuffle and deal cards as follows:
- 2 players: 6 cards each.
- 3 players: 5 cards each.
- 4 players: 4 cards each.
Players do not show their cards to other players.
Leave the rest of the cards face up next to the board, in 4 piles, one for each colour. These can be used by any player, as well as his own hand.
Objective:
Objective:
During the game the counters will be taken off the board, some out of the game and some kept by the players.
At the end of the game the winner is the player with the most counters of the majority colour left on the board. The white counters have no value.
Phases:
The game has two phases.
Phase 1:
Randomly determine a start player.
Players take turns in a clockwise direction to place cards around the board, these cards can be from the hand or the face up piles. Cards cannot be placed at the opposite end of any row where a card has already been placed.
Once a card is placed, count the number of counters of the same colour as the card, and remove that number of counters (not necessarily those same counters) from the opposite end of that row.
Then move the remaining counters along to fill the gap, leaving the new gap at the same end of the row as the card, but respect where gaps had been formed.
Then move the remaining counters along to fill the gap, leaving the new gap at the same end of the row as the card, but respect where gaps had been formed.
The phase ends when 18 cards are placed around the board. You can only place a card opposite another card in the same row in phase 2.
Phase 2:
Players continue placing cards and have two options:
- If the card is the same colour as the card at the other end of the row, this row is blocked, and no counters can be taken in this turn.
- If the card is of a different colour than the card at the other end of the row, the player can choose the counters of either colour. The player keeps these counters, to be counted in the final score.
End game;
The game ends when all cards have been placed. Then proceed to the final score.
The winner is the player with the most counters of the majority colour left on the board, not necessarily the most counters taken from the board.
